Feast-Subs isn’t dead / public apology

Hello everyone!

I have to apologize that we have been spending a ‘low profile time’ directly after establishing Feast-Subs. The group isn’t dead.

As you all know, I’ve been working as a pacesetter in Feast-Subs and to be honest with you, you can blame me for the situation: I haven’t had time to conduct and guide new projects due huge changes in my life.

To put long story short, I’ve decided to change my career from IT-Support @Institute of Medical Technology to something different. After our latest Feast-release I’ve been studying to become an “á la carte chef ” and I’m going to continue my education towards Japanese restaurants.

I'm aiming as anime chef =^.^= (this isn't a joke)

So @next month I’m going to start my chef specialization-training in the finest dining place in our city:

And after that, I’m going to specialize to Japanese gourmet foods.

So be patient… I’m going to talk with my crew and take next Feast-project under work and do something to provide faster sharing protocol(s) in near future.

Kanokon OVA1 (v2) uncensored Blu-Ray 720p CRC 643044B1 patch to Official 5441943E

For a humane mistake there has been around wrong/false CRC version of Kanokon OVA1 (v2) uncensored Blu-ray 720p release. This patch affects only those who have the wrong version.

The official version (which can be found in our Releases/DL section & anidb):

The wrong CRC version:

We got the information about the wrong CRC from FMZ in this post. In that post we released a “CRC 643044B1 patch to Official 5441943E”. Regarding the feedback (what we have had) the post is hard to find, and cause of this, we decided to make it more visible.

So if you have downloaded the wrong (CRC 643044B1) version, here is a patch which corrects the file. And that you don’t have to re-download the Kanokon OVA1 (v2) 720p (394.40 MB) – but instead – use a small & simple patch (99 K) which does the proper corrections:

Now it shows when the patching is done and informs the user if it can’t find the “needed” [643044B1] file.

Using the patch is quite straightforward and it works at least with WinXP. Here is a short guide how to use it (~included to the .rar package):

Put old file into a folder along with the xdelta.exe program, the xdelta patch file, and the patch bat file. Double click on the bat file and all should run smoothly.

First Squad: The Moment of Truth DVD – Released [ENG & FIN Subs]

This version is not a documentary clip neither a DVD-Screener or a ‘Directors cut’ with interviews, but a full and clean Theatrical version from the DVD disc 01. And yes, we are providing the DVD scans and some extras (the manga from the DVD release).

Meanwhile waiting Kanokon BD OVA 2 RAW, we started and finished new project: “First Squad: The Moment of Truth” providing ENG & FIN Feast subs. Hope you enjoy =^.^=

The reason why we took this movie under our Feasting is that there are no groups who did this one with soft-subs. Anon group did it in ENG, thought they used DVD-Screener as their RAW -.-’

And yes, we are admiring the “work from Russia”, including 9th company.

You may wonder that does “First Squad” count as anime. But we can surely answer: it does, despite the fact that the original audio is in RUS. It was made for JAP audience by JAP producers. And we do not question anidb‘s decisions.

Lets Feast With Kanokon OVA 1 & 2 – Censored HDTV Release [FIN subs only]

After all, we decided to release the censored TV version of both Kanokon OVA’s. That you can watch the second and final part of the show with FIN soft-subs and without further waiting. We are still waiting – and going to do – the uncensored Blu-Ray OVA 2 with ENG & FIN soft subs.

At the beginning our mention was only to work with Blu-Ray RAW’s providing ENG & FIN subs. But while waiting for uncensored OVA 2, we started to work with censored TV version – only to speed up our actual release by doing the subs beforehand. This is the result…

BTW, keep in mind that this one is an up-scale from the original broadcast. We haven’t done any encoding. Instead we are simply using Zero-Raws AT-X TV release as-is. So you can find black bars around the video.

With this HDTV release we will provide only the FIN translation. The video quality is average, but here’s the technical info and sample images:

Kanokon OVA2 in progress meanwhile waiting for BD RAW’s

Meanwhile waiting for Kanokon OVA 2 uncensored Blu-ray RAW’s, we started Feast-Subbing. As OVA 1, we are re-doing ENG hard-subs and translating the OVA 2 to Finnish language. With this pre-work we can hopefully speed up the actual release.

To put short: we are doing the subs with censored TV version and when BD RAW’s comes out, we only need to encode the video and re-do timing regarding scenes, dialogues etc to make sure that subs are working correctly.

Kanokon OVA 1 & 2 DVD (ENG & FIN)

We have finished Finnish language translation, which was quite fast project comparing to one ~random~ episode from Elfen Lied. In Kanokon they used quite simple dialogues that we could focus on Ecchi =^.^= Any ways, you can find ENG soft-subs from our release (ripped from hard-subs).

Source: 1080p Blu-Ray.
Encode: mp4 container, AVC x264 1280×720 16:9 ~2000 Kbps (nominal bitrate) @23.976 fps
Audio: Japanese AAC 16bit stereo
Subs: ENG & FIN ASS soft-subs (ENG soft-subs ripped from hard-subs)
Cropping: We did few pixel cropping to get rid-off black bars surrounding the video.

And as we promised, we included the original credits from the English hard-sub-version. And yes, we did some minor polishing, for example dividing long lines/sentences that they wouldn’t work as “spoilers” in next scenes (jokes) & re-timing the subs more accurate.

Elfen Lied DVD Released with FIN soft-subs only

Elfen Lied DVD

Finally, the work is done! We started this project last summer, thought project was stalled for several months cause we had other important things to do IRL. The Elfen-Lied translation was started as a joint-group (ep 01-02) with divxfinland.org. And we continued the work after few hiccups, translating rest of the episodes from ep 03 to 13 + ep 14 OVA.

Subtitles: AAS Finnish language soft-subs (First two episodes are made as co-op work with divxfinland.org).

Kanokon OVA1 as our 2nd official release

It’s decided. We are making Kanokon OVA1 as our official release: we are translating the episode to FIN. With this release we are also providing ENG soft-subs re-doing TSSMA’s hard-subs & encoding the video from original BD 1080p raw’s to 720p.

You might wonder “why 720p version over the 1080p?”. The answer is simple: we want our release to work also with older computers – providing uncensored Kanokon HD enjoyment for everyone =^.^=

Wellcome to Feast-Subs

We have just established Feast-Subs group.

We have experienced timers and encoders and so far we have focused to non-anime related movies and series and professional translation to Finnish language.

Our members have been translating, timing and subbing in following shows and movies: Heroes, Prison Break, Fringe, Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice, Pokémon: The First Movie etc. Not mentioning the translation & encoding & timing joint-work with TerrAnime: “Comet in Moominland / Muumindani no Suisei“.

Now to our unofficial release…

For all anime lovers, we are going to release Kanokon: Manatsu no Daishanikusai 720p uncensored Blu-Ray (with English subtitles).

Feast-Subs

As you know, Kanokon OVA1 has been released by TSSMA group, thought they used hard subs on their translation with 1080p x264 encoding inside .avi container ~with poor/lowbitrate video for a 1080p release. In the other hand, Animekyun group ripped the subs from TSSMA as soft-subs providing proper 1080p release. But with Animekyun release the problem is subtitle timing, not mentioning lack of Karaoke: You can find scenes which ‘were not subbed’, and suddenly, you get the subs in a pile from those ‘non-subbed’ scenes. Not mentioning that all the timings started too early. Besides this, both groups had black bars around the vid, which includes the original raws.

So we have two good releases: other lacks in video quality, other in subtitles (~subtitle timing). So we are going re-do, re-time, re-encode etc Kanokon OVA1…
